Is Navman a Reliable Brand of GPS Navigators?

While you check around for GPS devices for a vehicle, you might bump into a couple of brands and find yourself clueless regarding which brand to purchase. This is particularly hard when you are shopping for something geared towards affordability and portability. The selection offered in your local mall might not be large, which could cause you to look on the web and try to find a wider range of options. Once you’ve looked, you’ll be shocked at how many GPS manufacturers are even in existence. Navman GPS products are among the makers that you don’t see every day because they own no stores in the US, but plenty in the Britain and Australia. Still, this company’s current inventory of products looks pretty attractive. Another great model to consider is the Garmin Nuvi 1200 Portable GPS Navigator.

Navman F15

The Navman F15 seems to be the single Navman GPS unit they’ll make being sold in the US and, naturally, US maps including Puerto Rico are included. Even though the Navman F15 isn’t a widescreen product, the 3.5” touch screen along with its simple design combine to make it a very user friendly product overall. Setting  up the device turned out to be less complicated than quite a few other GPS units, which usually require some minor electrical work just for it to operate like you need it to. Both of these characteristics easily define the F15 as a great device for users to introduce themselves to GPS navigation while driving.

However, the navigation capabilities in general may disappoint many consumers because it’s not as accurate as the other American made GPS devices you could find. There may be some instances when you begin to go around in circles, but we’re also aware of many instances of it working just fine, so it will likely vary according to the destination you have chosen. Your Navman’s points of interest may include different restaurants and gas stations, but the saturation of POI’s offered with this device are nowhere near the flood of information that more established GPS makers provide. The short battery life will probably be frustrating as well, but should be understood since this particular GPS model won’t clean out your savings. Setting aside the inadequacies, the Navman GPS continues to be a practical investment thanks to its easy user interface and menus and its efficiency in planning the most sensible route and finding addresses.

Navman S35

The S35 comes with the same 3.5 inch screen as does the F15, and the casing looks quite attractive and it is still appropriately portable. This is an Australian exclusive, provided with over 500,000 points of interest on that continent and is provided with the text-to-speech engine which properly pronounces place names employing an Australian accent. It even has a mileage expense reporter that is convenient for consumers who need to manage gasoline costs better. The most current maps of 2008 are automatically included.

Navman S45

The Navman S45 has the same helpful operations and aesthetics as the S35, with the addition that the screen is larger; measuring 4.3 inches. In spite of the widescreen feature, the device still looks relatively portable. A comparable model is the Garmin Nuvi 1200 GPS Navigation System.

Navman GPS products are restricted with regards to variety, yet they all attempt to be both portable yet also reliable. They met their expectations in maintaining a nice looking and portable shape, but the product could stand some improvements on the accuracy side.
